Vicki is truly an inspirational person!
Tonight, I’d like to talk about a state of mind and the strange things I’ve seen.
Reader: What do you mean by that?
Me: How being in a relaxed state of mind has allowed me to see things I consider paranormal.
Reader: Are you nuts?
Me: No, I’m as sane as the next person.
What I mean is, being relaxed is like meditation. That’s how you’re supposed to be when you meditate, relaxed.
Reader: So you’re saying that when you sit down and relax, you see ghosts huh?
Me: Not exactly. Let me explain.
From a young age I remember seeing something peculiar. Mind you, I have to go back a long ways.
I can recall having a strange visitor looking in at me when I was in my crib.
The memories are hazy, but I remember a woman standing beside my crib looking in at me. I can’t remember if I was scared or not. What’s most fascinating about this now is, I can remember being able to see right through this woman.
Every now and again, my mom mentions that I used to ask her about the, “see through” lady when I was an “infink” (That’s how Popeye The Sailor says infant.)
As I got older, I stopped seeing the woman and eventually forgot all about her.
I did start seeing strange swirling dark masses. They looked like steam or smoke. My folks didn’t believe me when I told them about those things.
In time, I stopped seeing them as well. You see, I was seeing those things full on, not in my peripheral vision. I think I saw them until I was nine years old.
Years went by, I grew up, found work in another town and moved away from home.
I’d lived happily in my rented home for almost five months when I started seeing something out of the corners of my eyes. When I would turn my head to look, there was nothing there.
One night as I laid in bed I saw a smoky outline of an older woman’s face appear above mine. It slowly started floating down.
I was so petrified, all I could do was push my head further into my pillow and close my eyes.
The next thing I knew, I was feeling cold sensations on my right cheek.
I think whatever that thing was, it was kissing me on my right cheek. After a few chilly “pecks” upon my terrified face, they stopped.
Time went on, and I didn’t see the ghostly smoky face anymore but I started seeing things I call streamers, more often.
When I told my co-workers about it, they all told me to get my place checked for a gas leak. Now, I’m a smoker, I was allowed to smoke in my rental home. I figure if I’d had a gas leak, the place would have already gone sky high. So I didn’t get the place checked for gas leaks.
As time went on, I started getting a creepy feeling but I wasn’t seeing the streamers when I got it.
One night as I brushed my teeth before heading off to work, (I worked as a night time line-hauler for trucking company) I started getting that creepy feeling again.
This time, I didn’t immediately look around for what could be causing it. I relaxed for ten or fifteen seconds then turned around suddenly, letting the feeling guide my movement.
What I saw that night is partially blocked out. And I saw if for less than a second.
It was a strange little mass that kinda looked like a sea sponge. Except it had funny looking things like glass shards sticking out of it. At the tip of each of these shards was a white looking material like a net or a spider’s web. It was all connected so this strange entity was covered in it.
Inside of this entity, I saw swirling colors that pulsated. I saw the whole thing pulsate as if it was breathing!
What I best remember about this incident was, it moved back a short ways as if I had startled it. Then I watched it go through the wall.
Within three steps I was at the doorway to my bedroom flicking the light on to see if it had gone in there. Of course I didn’t find it.
Reader: So what did you do?
Me: What could I do? There was nobody that I could call to report this type of thing. I finished brushing my teeth and went to work.
After that night, I stopped having the creepy feelings. I guess whatever that thing was decided I wasn’t fun to spy on anymore since I saw it full on.
When I started telling other folks around town about the things I was seeing, I found out that I was living in an area of town that had a lot of paranormal activity. I heard many stories from people who either experienced or knew someone that had experienced something paranormal. Talk about a real wing-ding-a-maroo, I tell ya!
When my job ended with that company I moved back home because I needed to have major reconstructive foot surgery. During that period of my life, I don’t recall seeing anything that I’d describe as paranormal. Even when I got into over the road trucking I don’t remember seeing anything paranormal.
My father suffered a stroke back in December of 2010. I had to give up my career as an OTR trucker to be closer to my parents since they are both to a certain degree disabled.
Since then, I’ve been seeing all kinds of crazy things. They used to scare me. Now, I find them amusing.
If you’re sitting their reading this thinking I’ve got some sort of dementia or something’s wrong with my brain, I’ll tell you this:
About a year ago I was sitting at the table with my folks. I saw a little black dot fly between my mother and I. By then, I was so used to seeing them I didn’t say anything.
A couple days went by and my mom asked me if I noticed something peculiar at supper when I saw the dot.
“Just the usual.” I told her.
“Like a black dot flying between us?” She asked.
She’d saw it too!
Reader: What does all this have to do with relaxing?
Me: I’m curious if other folks can, or have seen these things as well. I wonder if the people that can see these things are usually in a relaxed state.
I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve been talking to someone and seen a streamer fly down between us then back up and off to my right or left.
The people I was talking to never mentioned seeing anything to me at the time, therefore I never mentioned it to them.
I don’t claim to be a psychic or anything like that. Still, I wonder if I was born with a certain talent of sorts to be able to see things like what I have been seeing.
Here’s another interesting tidbit for you.
My mother works part time at a rest home on the night-shift. The facility is over a hundred years old. Anyone that works there for a certain length of time claims to have seen or heard something paranormal.
Five months ago, my mother says she heard a voice of an elderly woman coming from behind her as she pushed a wheelchair holding an elderly resident out of the room.
When I asked her how long the voice spoke or what it said, she tells me that it went on for five seconds, the voice was clearly feminine but it spoke in gibberish, like someone who didn’t have any teeth.
Alright, the other night, my mom had to go up to the rest home to pick up some papers. She asked me to go.
When we got inside the place, I noticed how dim the hallways were.
Upon arriving at the nurses station, I stood at the entrance to the hallway it faces and relaxed as much as I could because I didn’t have a lot of time before we left.
I stood there looking at the middle of the hallway not really thinking about anything. I was letting my mind wander.
Within twenty seconds I saw something and I think it was playing with me.
Does anyone remember the, “Kilroy was here” picture made famous during World War 2? Fingers and face barely above a fence?

I saw something like that at THE BOTTOM of the doorway to a residents room closest to me. If that would have been a living person, they would have to be lying on the floor. There’s no way they could have done that while standing or kneeling.
One second there was nothing, the next, boom! It was just there.
After I finished recoiling from the surprise it was gone when I looked at the doorway again.
Now I mentioned earlier that these kind of things used to scare me but now I find them amusing. Well, whatever it was that I saw, actually startled me because that was the first time I’d ever intentionally tried to see anything paranormal. I’d relaxed and let my mind wander.
As for anything specific about what I saw, all I can really tell you was, I saw some white hair, a face, and fingers. But it was for less than a second. Had I not been startled, maybe I could have watched it peripherally a little longer. I don’t know.
Here’s an entertaining bit of trivia for you:
A few days ago I was upstairs in the kitchen in front of the counter. I don’t know why but I looked back at the open doorway to the basement and guess what I saw? Yupper, the same thing I saw at the rest home. It was at the bottom of the doorway to the basement on the floor. The darned thing caught me off guard again so I didn’t have a lot of time to study it.
When I’m at my pc, shooting bad guys on Borderlands 2 and laying in bed going to sleep is when I see lots of these things. I have yet to see the Kilroy imitator again.
I still remember the night I was almost asleep. I looked over at my pc on my writing desk and saw something like a mist fly in front of the screen from left to right.
I was able to look right through it but it made my screensaver look distorted.
You’ll either be tickled or frightened when I tell you that, the whole time I’ve been writing this article, I’ve been seeing little white dots, streamers and things I think of as “Streakers” or “Flashers” in my peripheral vision.
They don’t bother me in the least. Heck, I’m relaxed when I’m working at my pc typing away.
And no, they’re not floaters like what an eye doctor would tell you about. I’ve had my eyes checked.
Have any of you seen strange things when you relax? Do you want to? If you do, try meditation. Now mind you, if you do start seeing things, don’t go blaming me if you can’t stop seeing them. I don’t know how it works. I just accept the things I see. They don’t bother me and I don’t go messing with them. They are just “there” like I’m “here.”
Sorry if this post didn’t really make a lot of sense. I just wanted to talk about the things I see and how I feel when I seem them. (In a relaxed state.)
The picture below is my crude attempt at drawing these strange and interesting things.
My best friend, Big Bro told me an eerie tale that happened to him a few years ago. He called me right after it happened. It gave me chills listening to his story over the phone and I was well over five hundred miles away in another state when that happened.
But that my friends, is a story for another day.

Wherever you are, wherever you’re heading to, please stay safe out there. Stay safe for the ones you love, and the ones that love YOU.
God bless YOU ALL!
Goodnight. J
